Me when people fail to realise that Soukoku are called that because they’re Double Black. Because they’re not two halves of a whole. Because they’re two wholes but when they come together they amplify each other because they cover each other weak points and strengthen each others strong points. Because they’re both capable by themselves but when they’re together they’re twice as capable. BECAUSE THEY’RE BOTH COMPETENT WITHOUT THE OTHER RGHABVGHKVAGBHCKVBDGDF
The YouTube content creator community was wracked by macabre tragedy this morning after Amelia Bedelia was instructed to hang streamers for a six year old’s birthday party
I love the x-men so much because that’s just what leftist infighting is like! that’s literally all it is! xavier is a sellout and they all hate him but he’s the only one with any money. everyone complains about “they keep switching sides and dating each other it’s so fucking confusing” like my dudes have you never been a part of any socialist organisation, ever. then people will go “magneto is so strong how has he not killed a bunch of teenagers” HE DOESN’T WANT TO KILL THEM! this started in a goddam basement over coffee he does not want to hurt them he just wants them to shut up and listen and will fling cars to do so
I remember the first time I saw it, i stared at it for several minutes until I finally just started crying. It made me resolve to leave, and I turned in my resignation about a month later.
This is your reminder that if life keeps throwing you lemons you are not morally obligated to make lemonade from them. You can duck, or catch them in a trash can, or get a baseball bat and slam those fuckers into the stratosphere.
Get your engineers to invent a combustible lemon and go BURN LIFE’S HOUSE DOWN.
I love the conversation between Pyrrha and Pash about Wake. Like yes, Wake was ruthless, mean, and married to duty – and she loved her family. She loved her sister, she loved her niece, she was proud of the blood they shared.
This puts her feelings about Gideon in even starker contrast. She didn’t love Gideon. She didn’t want Gideon. She raised and nurtured unborn Gideon for the sole purpose of killing her at the right place and time, and hated every last goddamn second of it.
We could have just assumed Wake wasn’t familial. We could have just assumed she was cold and merciless without discretion.
But Tamsyn Muir wrote this conversation to make it very clear that this wasn’t the case. Gideon didn’t have an unloving mother, she had a mother who didn’t love her.
i kept wondering why wake left gideon alive here; she’d already shot mercy, she clearly has no love for lyctors - which is what gideon was, at that point - and it’s not like she had any particular maternal feelings towards her; the only name she’d ever given her was bomb. she was a thing to kill, a thing to detonate.
this post reminded me that she didn’t feel like that towards all family, towards all children. she spent years in gideon’s sword, a sword gideon probably took with her everywhere, while she chattered to her mother’s niche, while she trained to become a soldier, unconsciously following in her mother’s footsteps - maybe, after all, wake did feel a sort of fondness for her down the line. for her daughter that looked like her, trained like her, was the only person to talk to her in years. maybe she felt the smallest amount of softness for her in the end - enough to spare her life while there were bigger fish to fry, at the very least.
Once again I am complaining that people are ignoring that this is a necromantic culture where taking body parts is normal and the original line was in the context of Naberius taking advantage of Camilla being tired and injured to challenge her for the 6th’s keys.
Harrowhark Nonagesimus is an honourable little gremlin in the depths of her blackened soul.
Well excuse everyone I want to point to the fact that she hated Gideon’s sword, she knew it would kill her one day.
AND STILL, having all the power of her planet and the highest rank, she gave the sword to Gideon (Gideon doesn’t know this, because Harrow was only the one signing it to be removed from the Ninth’s armory and given to her)
I like to think that, beyond this being another suicide attempt, Harrow IS honorable and was giving Gideon a chance to kill her.
(That and I’m pretty sure that the dissonance we find between Harrow not wanting to break her promises and Gideon saying she always lies comes from Crux doing things at Harrow’s back and Gideon thinking Harrow ordered him to do them)
Literally cannot emphasize enough that my #1 writing advice is to stop being afraid. Stop being afraid of sounding too cringe, or too stupid, or too horrifying, or too horny, or too weird, or too much, or too little, or too you. You need to put your entire pussy into your art. Sure, it won’t be to everyone’s tastes, but if you keep yourself to the blandest tamest safest roads possible you will be of no one’s tastes, not even yours.
I don’t think you can fully understand transmisogyny without understanding how it’s weaponized against cis Black women.
When you find a transmisogynist you’ve found a racist who will use their ideals of the “normative female body” to demean and denigrate Black women. For years it was a popular right wing rumor/conspiracy/dick move to refer to Michelle Obama as a “tranny” and more recently sports organizations have repeatedly excluded cis Black women for not having “normative” hormone levels. Transmisogyny and antiblackness go hand in hand.
